I was brought up in a bilingual, Black and Mexican American working class household in Texas while attending a predominantly white private school across town. This was my first lesson in code-switching.

I went on to earn a M.S. in Management and Policy from The New School and a B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University. I also received certifications in coaching and facilitation from the Co-Active Training Institute, the Association for Talent Development, and Interaction Institute for Social Change. After twenty years in the nonprofit sector, focusing on youth empowerment and the arts, I managed a leadership and development program for executives at the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation.

Today, I am a working mom based in New York City. I offer my wisdom and experience to clients while collaborating with a growing network of like-minded consultants and architects in the movement to redefine the profession for the post-pandemic era.

Cultural competence is more critical today than ever. I am dedicated to unlocking a client’s full potential by encouraging us all to show up unapologetically as our whole, authentic selves. I have coached dozens of professionals across various fields and consulted nonprofit leaders from The Ford Foundation, The Center for Cultural Power, Qualitas Foundation, Corlears School, and the International Brazilian Opera Company.
